Welcome to the University of California, Santa Barbara. Congratulations on your beginnings at UCSB! I hope you will spend a few minutes to fill out a short survey that will help us recognize and reward high school teachers who have made a real difference in the education of UCSB students. We are sending this brief survey to all incoming first-year students this quarter. The purpose is to find out which high school/prep school teacher had the most positive impact on your education — who made learning interesting, who gave advice that really mattered, etc.

Once you have filled out and submitted the survey, we will send a letter and certificate of congratulations to all nominated teachers, with a copy to their Principals. With the teachers' consent, we will pass on their names to the chairs of our academic departments so that the latter may learn just who is doing a superlative job of preparing our students. Your name and address will remain strictly confidential within the Office of Academic Programs and will not be further distributed or disclosed in relation to this survey.
